“GirlsRock! RVA – Teaching Young Women Self-Esteem, Cooperation, and Respect Through Music.”

So this is an article about a great camp in Richmond that I’m involved with. The article was published in the Central Virginia Women’s Sourcebook 2012. The title says it all; “GirlsRock! RVA – Teaching Young Women Self-Esteem, Cooperation, and Respect Through Music.” This is one of the best camp experiences I have ever been a part of because the entire staff there had all the right intentions in teaching and giving. This wasn’t about teaching a camp to collect a paycheck…this was about giving young women self-respect, self-defense skills, self-esteem, and solid life skills. The staff had some of the most amazing female musicians I have ever worked with, in terms of commitment, passion, musical skills, and professionalism…women running sound, teaching students, setting up and tearing down for performances and rehearsals, and mentoring. Kudos guys…I’m definitely so proud to be involved with the 2012 camp.
