This Jay Turser was donated to the studio a few weeks ago. I surprised another student with this donated instrument. The family took the money they were putting aside for a new bass and invested in upgrading it. The upgrades included new Grover tuners, GHS Progressive strings, new CTS pots, a new wiring harness, and Nordstrand Power Blades. Many thanks to Nordstrand and GHS for all they do to help me out as an artist and as a teacher…especially with projects like this.

It’s been a few weeks working on the instrument to install everything. Here’s the progress as of today; the action is still settling in. A new bridge and nut might be in order, but’s it’s time to celebrate by letting the neighbors know there’s a new bass on the block.
