Tonight’s Office; Willstock 2018

Not my usual office, but a good one. Started with a solo bass set at a house concert…running my rig stereo for the first time through two 410 Warwick cabs…..😃😍😀. I think the audience liked it…lots of good feedback on the set. I’m trying a lot of new stuff on the solo bass front, as the folks at the last two shows have now seen.

The office “view” is from when I traded off to drums to play with my Rock For Strings class….good prep for next weekend’s Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon event when they rock the halfway point of the course at “Thunder Row.”

Good house concert today….with good people….probably 100+ people in attendance today at the peak of the event.

Sold some Lady Bass Gear as well. 🙂 Even had time to bust out the Canon EOS 50D and get pics of most of the performers.

The concert organizers raised over $670 (and still counting as donations are still coming in) to help the Fredericksburg Pet Assistance League.

I grabbed my Canon EOS 50D with a Sigma EX DC 10-20mm to do some photography for the event. Here are some snapshots from throughout the day.

The crowd was still growing as the day went on. 96 degree temps didn’t keep them away…humans or their companion animals!

Prior to the event, I handed off invites to people I simply ran into who might have wanted to go to the house concert. Admittedly, it very old school; passing on a grainy black and white photocopied note with directions, schedule and info for the concert. More than a few of us had these “notes” that we handed off to folks.

The hand-delivered, black and white photocopied, grainy as fuck old school flyers were an absolute hit though. One person commented to me during the event, “Getting a paper flyer directly from you immediately let me know that I was invited to something amazing.” It pulled her back to high school when notes were passed in class.

FB event page said 30 people were coming to the house concert. Reality; we blew past 100 somewhere around midday.
